Day 9

Arrival in Guayaquil

Day 10

A great tour to visit the dolphins in Rio de Horno. This tour was included with the exoticca package, for an additional fee.

A group tour for an orientation to Guayaquil

The group got together for one final tour - a 2-3 hour orientation tour that showed us where to find the best food and entertainment near our hotel.

Day 11

Streets around the riverwalk

There are markets, shops, food stalls, and street vendors on the streets around the riverwalk on the Guayas River.

Day 12

A fun tour to visit Bucay and Chimborazo

Fruit stands everywhere along the way

If you're hungry, there are fruit stands - and lots of them!

Drive to Bucay and the waterfalls

A coral snake crawls out of the bushes into the road side in front of our car.

Old sugar mill

They show us how to make sugar juice from sugar cane using an old manual cane crusher.

A hike to the top to see the waterfalls

There are a few waterfalls on this path, and you can bring your swimsuit and go for a dip in the pool at the base of the waterfall.

Lunch

A set lunch with fresh grilled and smoked fish, soup, juice and more!  Served at the Cabana Restaurant de Papo Bucay. Lunch before the drive back to Guayaquil, through Duran, and back to the hotel for the end of the tour.

Iguana Park

Back in Guayaquil,a stop to see the Iguanas that are everywhere in Parque Seminario - on the ground, in the trees, sitting next to the pond.

In the Las Peñas neighborhood, a lighthouse and church are found at the top of the hill after ascending 444 numbered  steps.  Once you get to the top, the views are fantastic. as you see Guayaquil and the Guayas River in the near distance.

Day 13

Good-bye Ecuador - Back to the USA

Visit to the marketplace

One last souvenir shopping spree at the Guayaquil marketplace.

Lots of great artifacts to enjoy from ancient to modern history.

Lunch at Los Arbolitos 2

One last meal in Ecuador before heading off to the airport for a flight home.

The End

Good-bye Ecuador! The 12 day tour is over and time to head back to Denver, Colorado.
